Lightning to the Nations é a estréia do Diamond Head na NWOBHM que teve uma enorme influências para bandas aspirantes no metal, como o Metallica e Megadeth. Em suma, álbum clássico que tem com um elemento surpressa memoráveis riffs pesados pela cortesia do subestimado, porém influênte Brian Tatler, que seriam a marcado do metal dos anos 80.
